Val-de-Travers is the area where people take time to live. It is one of the cradles of the watch industry where the manufacturers of prestigious marks such as Chopard or Parmigiani are found.

It is a corner of the country with a lot of pedestrian walkways (wonderful hiking in the Poëta-Raisse or Areuse Gorges), cycle tracks, cross-country and downhill skiing in Buttes, summer downhill toboggan and an indoor ice skating rink in Fleurier, an indoor swimming pool in the sports center of Couvet (regular busses) and a summer swimming pool in Boveresse.

It is the country of the absinthe (the Green Fairy), a drink prohibited for many years, but which you may now taste or buy in many places. There you will also find a theatre, a cinema, art galleries, good restaurants and visits in the various museums, Asphalt Mines, Mauler’s Cellar...

Thermal baths of Yverdon within 25 min.
